Carnegie Europe, the European policy research center of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, is seeking a Visiting Researcher to work on a new project on EU climate action and climate security.

The project will look at the political and geopolitical challenges the European Union will face when taking serious action on the climate crisis over the next decade. It will also look at ways to strengthen the public support base that will give legitimacy to tough policy choices.

The successful candidate, who will report to the Project Director, will work primarily on research (contribute to the project’s research on the domestic and international political implications and challenges of upgrading climate change action (70%)), coordination and reporting (help ensure timely and efficient planning and delivery of project activities and outputs; produce narrative and financial reports related to the project (15%) and outreach (contribute to the design and implementation of the project’s outreach effort, including publications and events (15%)).

The ideal candidate will possess two to five years of relevant work experience including both research and project management; in-depth knowledge of policies in the field of climate action at the EU and global level; excellent written and oral communication skills in English, and the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
