IS THIS CAREER OPPORTUNITY FOR ME?

Are you an early to mid-career scientist with less than 15 years of experience in the field of food safety1? Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to boost your professional development and get hands–on experience at leading European organisations in the food safety area? Then this opportunity may be for you!

WHY THE EU - FORA FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME?

The EU-FORA Fellowship is a unique, 12–month paid programme for highly motivated professionals who want to contribute to food safety1 in Europe.

EU-FORA Fellows will start a challenging journey in different hosting sites across the EU.

With the “learning-by doing” approach of the fellowship programme, you will gain extensive knowledge of many scientific aspects related to food safety risk assessment; you will discover:

  • how to select and apply risk–assessment methodologies;
  • how to collect and analyse relevant data;
  • how to use computer models in risk assessment;
  • how to provide effective risk communication.

In addition, you will benefit from several high–level trainings; a 3- week induction training at EFSA and further training modules spread over the 12 months of the fellowship at several leading European food safety institutions.

At the end of the fellowship, the technical report of your work will be published in a special issue of the EFSA Journal.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER?

During the Fellowship, you will receive a monthly net subsistence allowance of € 2,200 (multiplied by the yearly revised correction coefficients reflecting the cost of living in the country of the hosting site) for the 12-month duration of the fellowship.

To help you settle in, you will also receive an additional one-month allowance at the start of the programme.

You will be responsible for all other costs.
