Are you a highly motivated & skilled Senior Manager Communications and Stewardship?

At Kellen Brussels, we are looking for a seasoned professional to join the client team operating the association of European automotive and industrial battery manufacturers (EUROBAT).

Your main role will be to:

  • Provide high quality strategic advice to the industry association covering energy, transport and battery supply chain sectors regarding its planning of communication goals and objectives.
  • Proactively manage implementation of the communication strategy, goals and PR activities of the association, in close cooperation with the association leadership and the staff team.
  • Monitor and drive topic of material stewardship and implement programme, covering the full battery value chain.
  • Manage and lead External Communication Cluster meetings, consisting of Task Forces Marketing and Material Stewardship.
  • Hands-on design and delivery of communication messages and presentations in an attractive, precise and expert manner.
  • Join the senior client team and report to the Executive Director of EUROBAT.

In order to achieve this you will be:

  • Identifying the best strategies to communication programs that aim at advocating key policies and positions as well as promoting and protecting the association’s and sector’s image and brand.
  • Representing the association as well as building and maintaining high level relationships with key stakeholders, in particular EU Institutions, agencies and relevant European and national associations;
  • Taking the lead in and overseeing drafting and executing of the annual communications plans, covering Paid, Earned, Shared and Owned channels and ensuring a 360° consistency with a focus on:
    • Social media outreach: content planning, promotion and reporting
    • Website: content planning, regular updates and analytics
    • Copywriting and media relations: press releases for trade media, newsletters and press articles for specialised media, as well as managing media relations
    • Internal communications: Sharepoint, members newsletters, ..
    • Event and meeting organisation, both on- and off-line
  • Producing and updating association assets: visual identity and branding, brochures, presentations, photo and video libraries, infographics, etc.

What we are looking for:

Must have’s

  • Bachelor or University degree in Communications, PR or Marketing
  • 7 to 10+ years’ experience in communications and PR, including messaging, branding, social media, spokesperson capabilities, crisis management
  • Experience in or affinity with automotive and/or energy sectors
  • Experience in or with EU or national associations are a plus
  • Affinity and experience with Corporate Social Responsibility and Stewardship programs.
  • Knowledge of the EU Institutions and their functioning and good network of contacts in EU institutions.
  • Understanding of EU legislation and regulations is an asset.
  • Digital savviness:
    • Knowledge of photo/video editing and graphic design (Adobe, Illustrator, Canva,..)
    • Expertise in social media and content management systems (WordPress,Drupal,..)
  • Outstanding analytical/research skills and proven accuracy
  • Very good writing, communicative and presentational skills
  • Excellent written and spoken English and proficient knowledge of at least 1 other language
  • Self-starter and strong team player, quality and result oriented and willing to work in an international environment
  • Problem-solving skills – ability to work on different accounts
  • Flexibility – ability to work under pressure
  • Be a proactive team player

Nice to have’s

  • Affinity with one of the following industries: Energy, Construction, Environment, Transport
  • Experience with Associations and / or EU affairs
  • Knowledge of the EU institutions
  • Understanding of EU legislation and regulations
