Kellen is the leading professional services firm dedicated to creating, managing and advising EU and global trade associations and interest groups. Kellen Brussels is managing EUROBAT and is currently offering an exciting position for an EU Affairs & Policy Director.

Job description

The EU Affairs & Policy Director will be a member of the EUROBAT client association team operating in the environment, transport and energy sectors. The position is based in our Brussels office.

He/she will have a variety of roles:

  • Leading the development of public affairs strategies and regulatory programs on EU Affairs and Policy for EUROBAT, the Association of ‎European Automotive and Industrial Batteries Manufacturers; ‎
  • ‎Managing internal EUROBAT working groups and task forces for example on Batteries Regulation and Environmental Health & Safety policies;
  • Representing EUROBAT in relevant fora in EU legislative and regulatory discussions;
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders (EU institutions and other policy stakeholders);
  • Be part of the staff leadership team for EUROBAT;
  • Have a high degree of visibility externally and the opportunity to have high-level contacts internally with the members;‎

Profile

  • Master’s degree level;
  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in public and regulatory Affairs in the environment, health & safety sectors;
  • Excellent knowledge in EU policy & regulatory affairs, with knowledge of Batteries Regulation as a plus
  • Experience with the EU policy-making process and in working with trade associations in renewable energy, storage, metals or transportation;
  • Very good writing, communicative and presentational skills;
  • Computer literate (MS office, web-based tools);
  • Excellent written and spoken English, other languages are a plus;
  • Self-starter and strong team player, quality and result oriented and willing to work in an international environment.
