Purpose of the role

As Project Assistant, you are responsible for providing support on strategic bids preparation and projects in Outreach, Public Diplomacy, Communication and Events. You are responsible for helping the team understand the context of the project with timely research and networking activities. You are expected to map the relevant actors, experts and competition for our target tenders. Furthermore, you will have a chance to develop your Project Management skills through a variety of tasks that aim to support our Project Managers within our projects under implementation. 

Key responsibilities

Project acquisition

- You will do project specific research on assigned new business opportunities in line with our pipeline; 

- You will carry out thematic research for priority markets and/or sectors in line with the team goals and objectives;

- You will do mapping studies for assigned markets/sectors for potential partnerships and recruitment;

- You will carry out market and competition analyses;

- You will assist Project Managers in establishing communication with selected experts and organisations;

- When requested by Project Managers, you will represent B&S Europe in meetings and calls with potential partners and experts; building and maintaining a positive image of B&S Europe with key partners & stakeholders.

- Reporting to Project Managers on above listed points on a regular basis.

Project management

- You will support our Project Managers in management of ongoing projects (receiving, revising and encoding invoices and timesheets, identification, evaluation, negotiation and mobilization of short-term expertise, supporting the management of the local account and revision of expenses, completing administrative tasks, monitoring activities, etc.);

- You will provide support with logistical aspects of field missions and work on the field. 

Desired competencies and experience

- You have a university degree, or you are an advanced student in a related field;

- You have a keen interest in the fields of communication, public diplomacy, outreach; and you demonstrate extracurricular activities;

- You are interested in development consultancy, European Union related matters, and communicating in the EU;

- You are willing to develop yourself in project management, in technical and financial backstopping;

- You are committed to develop yourself in the field of outreach, communication and public diplomacy; you are willing to specialize in different aspects of these fields based on your interests and needs of our team;

- You enjoy doing research and connecting dots; 

- You have good writing skills, and you are interested in translating your know-how and research into written documents with a creative approach;

- You have excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal; French would be a big asset, and any other language will be considered as an asset;

- You are computer-literate and independent with MS office applications;

You have a can-do attitude and you enjoy multitasking;

- Above all, you are a true team player with a friendly, open personality and a sense of humour.

- A Belgian 6-months CIP contract (Contrat d’Immersion Professionnelle) with a monthly net salary of 970€;
