JOB DESCRIPTION

DIGITALEUROPE is a key player in the debate and initiatives on advancing the European data economy. With various developments at EU and national level, we are looking for a Policy Manager to join our Digital Transformation Policy team.

To support existing and emerging workstreams in the area of cloud and data spaces, we are looking for a policy manager with a technical background and experience in standardisation. Topics include, but are not limited to, the creation of the European data spaces, advancing cloud uptake and key initiatives such as Gaia-X.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support in technical workstreams of our AI & Data working group, and others;
  • Drive consensus among members and support in the development of position papers and other materials, including technical input;
  • Represent DIGITALEUROPE in external meetings and monitor EU and national developments of relevance;
  • Prepare and implement outreach and communication activities, build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

  • Master level University education with 3+ years of relevant work experience;
  • Experience in EU digital policy and standardization, notably cloud regulation landscape;
  • Knowledge of the EU decision-making processes is an asset;
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken (other languages are an asset);
  • A proven track record of drafting positions papers, articles and briefings;
  • Experience with working across borders in an international context;
  • Ability to manage multiple issues and deadlines;
  • Strong integrity and the ability to prioritize and focus;
  • Self-driven and organised.
