SolarPower Europe, WindEurope, RE100 (led by The Climate Group in partnership with CDP) and WBCSD established the RE-Source Platform to drive the uptake of PPAs, renewable energy investments and increase the number of corporates buying renewable power from 100 to 100,000. This is the first multi-stakeholder alliance in Europe bringing together the interests of clean energy investors, buyers and suppliers. This Platform pools resources and coordinates activities to promote a better framework for corporate renewable energy sourcing at EU and national level.

A new grant from Google.org, covering the next two years, aims to make renewable energy purchasing information, research, and tools publicly available, and to raise awareness of these tools and the broader benefits of renewable energy. It is in this context that the RE-Source Platform is looking for an experienced full-time Project Manager to develop and disseminate the recently launched Renewable Energy Buyers Toolkit.

Job Description

Reporting to the RE-Source Platform Coordinator, the Project Manager will:

  • Manage all activities related to the grant funding including:
    • Identification and targeting of clean energy buyers (private and public sector)
    • Design and develop the toolkit, including new content, partners, translations
    • Develop and implement awareness raising campaigns
    • Support with the establishment of National RE-Source Hubs in various Member States
  • Manage relations with the grant funder(s), founding associations, partners, clean energy buyers, national and sector associations, EU policy makers and marketing and communication experts;
  • Develop and implement a detailed two-year project plan, track progress and be responsible for day-to-day coordination and implementation of work-plans;
  • Assist with organizing Platform-related events, especially the annual RE-Source event;
  • Manage funding resources, budgets and spending of the Google.org grant funding; and
  • Be responsible for the internal and external monitoring and reporting on the activities as well as to Google.org.

Competencies and qualifications needed for this position include:

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in project management, marketing and communications, energy, international relations or a related field;
  • A minimum of 5 of experience in project management, including managing grants; (Project Management certification a plus)
    • Proven track record in developing and implementing marketing and communication campaigns and tools
    • Knowledge and experience of corporate renewable energy sourcing and / or energy purchasing;
    • Experience interacting with a range of stakeholders is essential;
    • Excellent personal presentation;
    • Strong analytical and writing skills;
    • Sound diplomatic judgement, good inter-personal skills and networking ability;
    • Perfect command of English (written and spoken) required. Command of one or more other language of Europe is an added value;
    • Sound organisational skills and strong attention to detail;
    • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work well under deadlines;
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; and
  • EU citizen or in possession of a Belgian work permit.

The RE-Source Platform offers

  • Initial 24 month contract with possibility of extension;
  • Remuneration package, which includes lunch vouchers, DKV hospital and dental insurance, contribution to public transportation for commute to work and representation costs;
  • Occasional travel within Europe; and
