Background on SolarPower Europe
SolarPower Europe is a member-led association representing the European solar PV sector. SolarPower Europe’s aim is to ensure that more energy is generated by solar than any other energy source by 2030 and lead our members to make solar the core of a smart, sustainable and inclusive energy system. We are an award-winning association and have over 200 members spanning 35 countries. We aim to produce thought-leading energy market analysis and support the business of our members through creative and successful advocacy campaigns.
Through the Lifecycle Quality Workstream, SolarPower Europe has developed several reference documents to help increase quality in the solar industry. These include the EPC Best Practice Guidelines, the O&M Best Practice Guidelines and the Asset Management Best Practice Guidelines. SolarPower Europe is also committed to promoting the energy transition globally. Our Emerging Markets Workstream is involved in a number of countries outside Europe with the aim to identify and create solar business opportunities. We are cooperating with organisations such as the European Commission, the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and the Global Solar Council as well as local industry associations around the world to promote solar, share industry best practices and accelerate the energy transition in countries outside Europe. The association is also involved in several donor-funded international cooperation and research programmes. Ongoing programmes SolarPower Europe works with include GET.invest, the EU-India Clean Energy and Climate Partnership (CECP), the Indo-German Energy Forum (IGEF), the German-Jordanian Energy Partnership and the Horizon 2020 research programme TRUST-PV.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented person to assist in our growing International Cooperation Department. The Business Advisor will coordinate the Lifecycle Quality Workstream’s activities and make sure its reports are delivered in a timely and quality manner. The Business Advisor will also provide support to the implementation of the association’s international project activities such as drafting reports and papers on topics related to solar energy technology, policy, markets and international trade. To be a successful Business Advisor, you will need to be able to effectively coordinate working groups, work on tight deadlines, have a good understanding of policy, business, technical aspects of solar energy and markets, and have excellent writing skills. A Master’s degree in a related field and at least three (3) years of relevant experience is required for consideration.
