Parallel to our continued growth, we are now seeking new team members to join us as consultants in the fields of Environment, Energy and Climate Change.

Responsibilities

You will be expected to manage and to contribute to projects in the policy fields related to environment, energy and climate change. This involves the development of research methods, the design of projects, as well as proposal and report writing. Most of the projects will be conducted on behalf of the European Commission or related EU institutions. You will also contribute to Ecorys’ communication and outreach activities, including presentations at conferences and workshops. You will maintain a network of experts and partners, and will collaborate with colleagues throughout Ecorys. Depending on your experience and skills we would discuss and agree with you the exact portfolio of your tasks and a career path for your future development in the company.

Profile

Essential

  • University degree in economics, environmental economics, natural/environmental sciences, sustainable development with a focus on economics, or energy transition related subject;
  • Professional work experience of 2-3 years in a relevant field preferably with European institutions, EU clients, research or consultancy organisations working in the public policy field;
  • Very good knowledge and understanding of key relevant EU policies and the functioning of EU institutions;
  • Knowledge of EU environmental and climate change/energy policy-related topics linked to the European Green Deal;
  • Knowledge of impact assessment and evaluation methodologies, especially linked to environmental themes, the circular economy, energy or other related fields;
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills;
  • Experience in project management and/or the delivery of technical assistance projects;
  • Excellent level of written and spoken English developed through an extended period of study or work experience in an English-speaking environment;
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to work on a wide range of policy issues;
  • Ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative, to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines;
  • An inquisitive mind and willingness to learn.

Desirable

  • Confidence in delivering presentations and client outreach;
  • Experience in supporting business development activities, writing successful bids, reports and concept notes.
