What will be your role?

The Research Assistant will be fully involved in the daily activities of the Unit. Those revolve around conducting inhouse research, reviewing and editing ELF and member organizations’ publications, organizing policy-related working groups and public events, and, upon request, providing expertise and content-related support to other stuff members and liberal MEPs. The Unit works closely with the Project Unit and Communications Unit to ensure the timely realization and effective promotion of research-related outcomes and activities.

Your main responsibilities will include:

- reviewing and editing publications

- organizing working groups and public events

- drafting speeches, presentations, and background notes

- administrative tasks and project management tasks

- conducting your own independent research

Job requirements

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has at least a Master's degree; PhD candidacy or recent PhD graduation an advantage;
  • Has good research and writing skills; a track-record of academic or policy-oriented publications an advantage;
  • Has excellent spoken and written English skills. This is a must and any knowledge of additional European languages, would be appreciated;
  • Can take responsibility for ongoing activities, while being flexible enough to take up unplanned new tasks
  • Can work independently, show initiative and a problem-solving attitude;
  • Has an affinity with liberal and libertarian ideas
  • Can handle interpersonal and intercultural relations
