Carbon Market Watch is a not-for-profit association with unique expertise in carbon pricing and a track record of policy work in international organisations and the European Union. We are recruiting a dynamic junior communications officer full time for 6 months (Sept 2020 - Feb 2021) to work in our Brussels' office and or remotely from a Belgian residence. The junior communications officer will report to the communications director and will support communication activities across the organisation and in particular for our PlanUp project.

Tasks and responsibilities:
Layout and graphic design
- Assist in developing audiovisual content for Carbon Market Watch campaigns;
- Assist in the layout of Carbon Market Watch publications.
Website and social media
- Support website management and online content developmen;
- Support the management of and create content for Carbon Market Watch social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram).
General support to the team
- Carry out stakeholder mapping and tracking of public institutions and actors;
- Update contact databases;
- Monitor relevant climate and energy policy news;
- Support the organisation and follow up of events and capacity building activities.
Required skills and experience
- Good eye for design, layout and typography;
- Experience with photo, audio and video editing;
- Experience or willingness to learn website and social media management;
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite products, such as InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere, Audition and Illustrator, or equivalent;
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines;
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English, knowledge of other European languages (especially French and Spanish) is an advantage.

- Knowledge of EU decision-making processes and institutions;
- Knowledge of EU and international climate policies;
- Passion for climate policy.
