The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its General Secretariat Directorate (SG) - Corporate Responsibility Department (CR) - Civil Society Division (CS), at its headquarters in Luxembourg, an (Associate) Civil Society Officer. This is a full time position at grade 4/5.
The term of this contract will be 4 years.
Panel interviews are anticipated from end of June.
The EIB offers fixed-term contracts of up to a maximum of 6 years, according to business needs, with a possibility to convert to a permanent contract, subject to organisational requirements and individual performance.
Purpose
As part of the Corporate Responsibility (CR) department, and in particular the team responsible to manage EIB stakeholder relations, the Civil Society Officer will contribute to further widen and deepen the Bank’s activities and engagement in a number of sustainability issues, within the strategy of pursuing best practices and continuous improvement. The area of engagement focuses on environmental, social and governance issues at large. It covers the sustainability dimension of the organization as the key subject matter of engagement.
Operating Network
The (Associate) Civil Society Officer, internally referred to as (Associate) Officer, reports to the Head of the Division and will liaise with the officers in the division and in the department. You will work in frequent and close contact with business associations, federations, think tanks, academia, NGOs, networks and wider civil society stakeholders. Internally, you will work in close relation with other Directorates (Public Affairs Brussels Office, OPs, PJ, JU, Complaints Mechanism etc.).

If selected, such candidates will be hired on the condition that they build up rapidly knowledge of French and accept that their future career in the EIB may be subject to the attainment of sufficient proficiency in both of the Bank's working languages.
