Linklaters is looking for an Advisor to strengthen the EU Law and Policy Group in Brussels, preferably starting from 1 February 2020. The successful candidate will join an international hub of EU expertise, working hand in hand lawyers to help our clients anticipate regulatory change and thrive in the highly dynamic EU regulatory environment.

The EU Law and Policy Advisor will monitor and analyse EU legislative developments of relevance to our clients, pro-actively build and grow a network around the main topics (amongst others in the field of EU competition policy and EU energy & environmental policy). The successful candidate will competently draft internal and client-facing knowledge & learning material and contribute to the smooth functioning of the firm’s EU law network.

Profile

  • You are looking for a new challenge and have a proven strong interest in the EU policy and law-making process, including relevant experience in one of the EU institutions or in the EU public affairs industry;
  • You have at least 3 years of working experience;
  • You have a first-class degree in European politics, economics or law, ideally with expertise in EU competition policy and EU energy & environmental policy;
  • You are passionate about EU law and have thorough knowledge of the EU legislative process;
  • You are a pro-active self-starter and a quick learner, motivated to take ownership of own responsibilities and to show initiative;
  • You like working and networking with people of different cultural backgrounds and at all levels of seniority internally and externally;
  • You are a highly effective communicator, articulate both orally and in writing;
  • You are fluent in English (French/German are an asset).
