MGR Human Resources Ltd, with a Temporary Employment Agency License in Malta No. 249-2024, member of MAP S.Platis Group of Companies, is a leading, broad HR Consulting, Training, Recruitment and Temporary Placements Agency. We are looking to hire a COI Officer - interim support for the European Union Agency for Asylum to be based in Malta, HQ.

The position

The successful candidate will work on a secondment basis for the awarded contract for the Provision of Interim Services to the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA). EUAA is an EU Regulatory Agency headquartered in Malta whose mandate is to strengthen EU Member States’ practical cooperation on asylum, to support Member States whose asylum systems are under particular pressure and to enhance the implementation of the Common European Asylum System.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to COI Queries from EUAA Operations according to pre-defined working instructions, and EUAA COI methodology (conduct COI research, draft responses and perform peer-review, when applicable, to COI queries and other COI products)
  • Support training/coaching of members of Asylum Support Teams on COI methodology
  • Assist with any other COI-related tasks, as needed
  • Perform any other task in the interest of the sector

Minimum requirements

  • A completed university studies of at least three years attested by a diploma
  • Proven relevant experience of at least 2 years
  • Experience in social research and/or research on third country conditions (human rights, political, socio-economic situation)
  • Experience in conducting Country of Origin Information research in the asylum context
  • Excellent knowledge of COI methodologies and databases
  • Proven experience in drafting and editing papers and reports
  • Thorough Knowledge of English (level C1 in all dimensions as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or CEFRL)
  • Computer literacy, including MS Office Suite, use of internet and web-based applications

Advantageous 

  • University degree is required, preferably in the fields of law, political, humanitarian, and/or social studies
  • Professional experience in working in an international environment;

Remuneration

The position falls in hierarchical Category IV and the associated salary is €44,543.88 gross annually in twelve monthly installments.
