MGR Human Resources Ltd, member of MAP S.Platis Group, is a leading, broad HR Consulting, Training, Recruitment and Temporary Placements Agency. We are currently seeking to recruit a Project Assistant – Data hub for the European Union Agency for Asylum to be based in Malta HQ.

The position

The successful candidate will work on a secondment basis for the awarded contract for the Provision of Interim Services to the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA). EUAA is an EU Regulatory Agency headquartered in Malta whose mandate is to strengthen EU Member States’ practical cooperation on asylum, to support Member States whose asylum systems are under particular pressure and to enhance the implementation of the Common European Asylum System.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the collection and processing of asylum-related data regularly exchanged with EU+ countries.
  • Liaise with relevant actors in the field to ensure data quality with a particular emphasis on accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
  • Maintain timely and accurate datasets, interactive reports, and analyses related to the area of international protection.
  • Contribute to the production, cross-checking and dissemination of statistical overviews, reports and presentations.
  • Utilise data management and business intelligence tools (e.g. SAS, Power-BI) to summarise and visualise asylum related data in support of analytical work on the asylum situation
  • Assist in organising queries, surveys, meetings and workshops.
  • Other tasks as coordinated by the Data Hub team leader.

Minimum qualification:

  • At least a bachelor’s level degree in quantitative disciplines, such as Statistics, Mathematics, or Sciences
  • Alternatively, at least a bachelor’s level degree in any other discipline with at least one year of experience in a data management, statistics and/or reporting position

Minimum experience:

  • Practical experience in management of data/information sources, ETL procedures, the creation and manipulation of datasets and the provision of data quality assurance;
  • Experience in statistical/analytics software or programming applied to data management (e.g. SAS EG, SQL, SPSS, JMP, Power BI, Tableau, advanced Excel)
  • Experience in the production of statistical outputs and the drafting of analytical reports

Remuneration

The position falls in hierarchical Category III and the associated salary is €31,999.32 gross annually in twelve monthly installments.
