Security Assistant (Location: Athens with missions to field locations & Lesvos/Chios/Samos/Kos with missions to other locations)
Job Description
The Security Assistant works under the supervision of EASO, in performing some or all of the following tasks:
- Be aware of security protocols and procedures in place, check for compliance and advise EASO Regional Security Officer (RSO) and other EASO competent staff on any deficiencies;
- Support the day-to-day coordination of security related tasks;
- Under the instructions of RSO liaise with Security Services provider and Hellenic Authorities on safety/security related matters;
- Support project planning and implementation in the field of safety/security;
- Support the logistical arrangements of health/safety/security assets and materials, including maintenance of the inventory of assets/materials in the area/s of competence;
- Provide safety/security briefings to EASO staff, and as appropriate other staff in the area of competence, on security related subjects - including, inter alia, the warden system, radio communication procedures, and fire safety;
- Visit field locations in the area of competence and follow-up on safety/security related matters under the instructions of the RSO;
- Assist RSO and other EASO staff in security missions to the field;
- Attend and contribute to thematic, coordination or other meetings and workshops organised by EASO and/or other actors, that are relevant for the specific profile;
- Assist in the monitoring and reporting, as well as provide updates on security-related events;
- Draft and/or update documents, templates, statistics, minutes and reports, under the instructions of the RSO;
- In coordination with EASO RSO and Field Support Officer, respond to staff queries on safety/security issues, and provide assistance as required;
- Participate in trainings organised by EASO or other stakeholders locally or in other locations, when requested;
- Perform any other tasks in the interest of the service, relevant for the specific profile
Skill-sets and Requirements
- Fluency in Greek and in English (oral and written);
- Computer literacy, including MS Office applications (Word, Excel), use of internet and web based applications;
- Excellent conduct and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent intercultural/interdisciplinary communication skills;
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills;
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Be in a possession of a valid driving licence class B or higher;
- Be physically fit to perform the duties linked to the post.
Education & Experience
A level of education that corresponds to post-secondary education attested by a diploma or a level of education that corresponds to a secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education and appropriate professional experience of 2 years;
