ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Campaigns Coordinator will be responsible for the delivery of our flagship Youth Ambassador programme in support of ONE’s campaigning, policy and advocacy efforts. The post-holder will work closely with the Policy & Advocacy Manager for Italy & the Netherlands, as well as colleagues across Europe, to coordinate and deliver campaigns activities that influence Dutch political leaders

The ideal candidate will be a confident self-starter, sympathetic to ONE’s agenda and able to handle a varied and fast-paced role. Has a constant eye for opportunities and the drive to seize them. Some knowledge or experience with politics and media would be an advantage. Interest in or experience with international development and Africa is desirable.

This is a full-time opportunity reporting directly to the Policy & Advocacy Manager for Italy & the Netherlands based in our Brussels office.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

Run the annual ONE Youth Ambassador Programme in the Netherlands, including:

  • recruitment, selection and training of volunteers,
  • being the main contact point for Youth Ambassadors, keeping them motivated and finding creative solutions if issues arise
  • planning, coordinating and delivering Youth Ambassador campaign and media activities in support of ONE’s goals
  • supporting Youth Ambassadors organise local events
  • leading and keeping track of the Youth Ambassadors budget and all related expenditures
  • representing the organisation at external events, as needed
  • Draft and/or translate materials for the Dutch Youth Ambassador programme and content for ONE’s Dutch website, working with an external translation agency where possible
  • Manage and coordinate content for ONE’s Dutch social media channels
  • Support the delivery of ONE’s campaigns, including:
  • Recruiting new ONE members through a range of creative means
  • Helping deliver campaign actions, petition deliveries and meetings
  • Developing campaign products for the Dutch market
  • Coordinate the workload of an intern
  • Additional duties as assigned

WHAT YOU BRING TO ONE 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred
  • 2+ years of professional experience in relevant roles
  • Experience of event and project coordination required and experience of volunteering and volunteer management strongly preferred
  • Understanding of print and digital communications channels and how to harness them
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage people at all levels and different backgrounds and work as part of a small team
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce content for a range of audiences
  • Proven track record to synthesise complex documents with an eye for key points and relevance to ONE’s issues
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple, shifting priorities under tight deadlines while performing in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Related work history in poverty and infectious disease alleviation, advocacy, policy, legislation and/or demonstrable interest in the causes ONE supports
  • Ability to work with limited instructions
  • Some knowledge of the political and media landscape in the Netherlands.

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Fluency in English and Dutch required with excellent written and spoken skills in both languages.

TRAVEL 

Travel up to 20% domestic and occasional international.  

SALARY

This is a permanent position. Monthly gross salary is Eur 2,300 - EUR  2,600 depending on experience. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

Based in Brussels. Telework environment at the time of hire with opportunities for flexible work in the future.
