We are looking for a full time “Policy Officer, climate and land use” to be based in our WWF European Policy Office (WWF EPO) in Brussels.
The European Policy Office helps shape EU policies that impact on the European and global environment. WWF’s mission is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading WWF’s EU advocacy on climate-related land use policy issues, including bioenergy, the Carbon Removal Certification Framework (CRCF), the EU’s Land Use, Land Use Change and Forestry (LULUCF) Regulation and other EU policies and initiatives that involve or relate to carbon emissions and removals in the land use sector, including their implementation by Member States.
This means analysing policy proposals, lobbying decision makers, briefing journalists and working closely with our EU and global network of national offices in order to ensure that:
WWF European Policy Office offers an indefinite contract with a competitive package of pay and other benefits. The indicative base salary for this role would be somewhere around €3,000 gross per month, with the precise figure depending on the skills and experience of the successful candidate. WWF European Policy Office also provides a range of additional benefits, including allowances for lunch, public transport and home working, health insurance, pension plan, paid holiday and additional month of pay in accordance with Belgian law.
