EuroFIR AISBL is looking for a communications intern who can support the Association and EUfunded projects with electronic communication, especially website content and social media. 

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the European Union. 

This role will include the following tasks:

  • Advertising and promotion of Association and EU-funded project events
  • Assisting in delivery of events
  • Database content management and filing
  • Desk research on scientific topics or events
  • Development and publication of science-based content for the Association and EU-funded projects (visit http://www.eurofir.org/our-resources/current-projects for more information)
  • Development of online questionnaires, collection of data and elaboration of recommendations, based on the data collected
  • Support for Association staff, as related to EU-projects or Association business

Potential candidates must speak English as well as any other of the official European languages and have demonstrable communications skills and attention to detail. 

Required education and experience 

  • Able to work flexibly, as required
  • C1/C2 in English (written and spoken)
  • Demonstratable ability to translate scientific information into easily to understand terms
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Interested in food science and science communication
  • Pg.Dip, MSc., BSc or equivalent in food, nutrition or health areas
  • Some experienced of content management systems (e.g. WordPress) and web-based applications (e.g. Eventbrite and MailChimp) would be an advantage
  • Sound knowledge of Office software (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Well organised and capable of delivering activities independently
  • Willing to work with virtual teams

Duration of the contract: 1 st January 2020-30th June 2020 (negotiable for longer up to 12 months) 

Type of contract: Internship 

Remuneration (excluding VAT):

  • €850 per month plus meal vouchers and public transport (non-negotiable)

Subject to renewal or reoccurrence: No 

If the individual is enrolled as a graduate student (Masters or PhD programme), they may be eligible for additional funding from Erasmus+ (see www.erasmusprogramme.com/post/erasmus-grants).
