The Role

The EU and the UN agencies are part of Oxfam’s top institutional donors. The partnership with the EC and UN humanitarian agencies is structured around 3 core accounts (one for INTPA/NEAR and for ECHO and one for the humanitarian focused UN agencies covering WFP, UNCHR, OCHA and UNICEF) led by two Partnership Managers based in Brussels.

Oxfam International Secretariat is looking for a Partnership Management Assistant will support both Partnership Managers (and broader account teams) in their overall objective to maximize current levels of income from the EC and the UN (WFP, UNCHR, OCHA and UNICEF), influence key policies and practices to ensure stronger alignment with Oxfam’s work and priorities and improve the overall quality and efficiency of our partnership.

He/she will support both EU and ECHO/UN Partnership Managers in:

  • Monitoring EC and UN donor intelligence and funding opportunities and ensuring internal communication;
  • Engaging strategically with the EC and the UN by attending relevant meetings and events, collecting inputs from various stakeholders, and drafting briefing notes on strategic issues;
  • Managing the Accounts: internal coordination, account plan planning and monitoring, data management and logistics.

Who we're looking for

A Partnership Management Assistant who will have a keen interest and demonstrated knowledge/experience of international cooperation, development and humanitarian aid, and institutional fundraising; an affinity with the aims and objectives of Oxfam, supporting our vision of a just world without poverty.

He/she will have an academic degree in a relevant field such as Political Science, International Relations, Humanitarian Aid, International Development, European Affairs; and also, fluency in written and spoken English is essential. The Partnership Management Assistant will have strong analytical skills and ability to work independently and deliver results with minimal supervision; will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work within a team and with an international network.
