VVA Brussels is looking for a Principal Consultant to extend its current team of consultants and researchers.

The Principal Consultant leads proposals and projects and contributes to the development and implementation of the company strategy.

Coordinates and delivers tenders and contribution to tenders on time and to high quality, engaging comfortably in any sector/policy area and any type of project.

Focusing on the internal management, the Principal Consultant manages autonomously complex projects, delegating and coordinating activities with the team and monitoring the effective and efficient delivery of the project whilst meeting the expectations of the clients and ensuring their satisfaction. Moreover, she/he supports the professional growth of more junior resources through the implementation of line management processes and coaching consultants and senior consultants.

On top of this, the Principal Consultant will also be involved in the shaping and management of consortia in tenders, coordinating and delivering tenders and contribution to tenders on time and to high quality, engaging comfortably in any sector/policy area and any type of project. She/He will also be in charge of the coordination of project partners as integral part of the management of projects and proposals.

Principal Consultants also contribute to the design and implementation of the company strategy, as well as leading on the development and update of tools and methodologies.

As some of our clients are based in several different countries, the position implies – in normal times – limited travel outside of Belgium and outside the EU.

What we are looking for:

All of the above implies that the candidate has a strong background and experience in:

• Policy and/or economic consultancy, with 5 years of relevant experience;
• Project and tender management, with 1-2 years of relevant experience;
• Management of project teams and coaching of more junior resources;
• Transport policy and/or innovative environments;
• Coordinating desk research campaigns and stakeholder consultations;
• Economic modelling (cost-benefit analysis, market evaluations, …);
• Coordinating data analysis (qualitative and quantitative) activities;
• Report and proposal coordination, management and development English;
• Management of client relationship and delivery of project presentations.

The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial and proactive mindset and feels at ease in a dynamic company oriented to growth into innovative domains such as transport and smart mobility and focusing on the policy, market and economics aspects of innovation. Interest in digitalization and space downstream applications is a plus.
