European Aluminium is looking for a highly motivated candidate with strong written and oral skills to reinforce its Innovation Hub department and Automotive & Transport Market Group. The innovation Hub is currently involved in a new EU H2020 project called SALEMA addressing Critical Raw Materials in Aluminium alloys for electric vehicles. The primary objective of this 3- years project is to demonstrate that a change in the material inputs required to produce high-performance aluminium grades is feasible; i.e. substituting primary CRMs (Si & Mg) by converting scrap and commonly available materials as the main source of alloying elements. The candidate will mostly contribute to this SALEMA project. In this project, European Aluminium will be mainly active in policy, standardisation, LCA and dissemination activities. This includes the organisation of workshops and project events, e.g. clustering events with other EU projects.
The Innovation Project Manager will report to the Innovation Hub Leader and will work in close cooperation with colleagues working for the Automotive & Transport Market group.
Hard skills:
- Master’s degree in engineering, environmental sciences or any other relevant scientific field.
- 4-6 years’ working experience with strong interest in communication
- Knowledge in European policies and Life Cycle thinking.
- Strong interest in research & innovation, being familiar with European funding programmes and related innovation projects.
- Be fluent in both written and spoken English and other European languages are an asset.
- Have excellent command of Windows Office package.
Soft skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written, and ability to achieve consensus when dealing with multiple stakeholders;
- Willingness and ability to work on a range of different issues.
- Be able to assess technical industry aspects and translate these into policy recommendations
- Team player, able to work in a multi-stakeholder environment, fast learner and committed.
- Good organisational skills and eye for detail.
- Pro-active and responsive with ability to quickly understand tasks and situations.
Responsibilities/tasks:
Under the supervision of the Innovation Hub leader, the candidate will
- Manage the contribution of European Aluminium to EU H2020 SALEMA project in accordance to the tasks described in the project proposal.
- Cooperate with the other departments in order to consolidate and coordinate inputs, especially for policy, sustainability/LCA, communication aspects and standardization activities.
- Manage the financial and administrative reporting to this EU project
- Securing communication and dissemination activities between European Aluminium members, various stakeholders and other EU research projects. e.g., through presentations and workshops organisation.
