The European Policy centre (EPC) is looking for a Digital Communications Officer with strong IT and design skills, who is visually-minded, enjoys working on technical tasks and is confident in using a variety of social media platforms.

He/she will be responsible for the online public presence of the EPC and his/her role in the organisation will be to improve on- and offline name recognition, promote EPC activities and support our overall strategic objectives.

The Digital Communications Officer will be an integral member of the EPC Communications team and will work closely with the Head of Communications and EPC management.

MAIN TASKS

  • Harmonise and safeguard the EPC’s online visual identity.
  • Manage the EPC’s social media channels, with the aim of reaching an increasingly broad audience and engaging with policy experts, journalists, and policymakers in Brussels and beyond.
  • Design, implement and evaluate social media campaigns to promote and showcase EPC events and publications.
  • Manage and update the epc.eu website, as well as support the development of new features on the website. Support EPC analysts in building their online profiles through advice and training.
  • Liaise with the EPC events team and analysts on communicating and promoting EPC events.
  • Develop and create infographics to communicate core messages of EPC publications, as well as publishing and disseminating EPC publications and EPC newsletter online.
  • Disseminate press releases and manage media requests, including maintaining the media contacts database.

SKILLS

  • University graduate (bachelor or master).
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication, written and listening skills; native speaker would be a plus.
  • Strong IT and design skills and technical aptitude.
  • Familiarity with technical editing skills (video, podcast) and design tools such as InDesign are a plus.
  • Knowledge of the European Union institutions, and a basic grasp of main policy debates.
  • Fluent in use of social media platforms, especially Twitter and LinkedIn. Previous experience is essential.
  • Ability to write for a broad and expert-level audience.
  • Excellent project management skills, able to coordinate a diverse range of projects and deadlines and liaise with external developers and contractors.
  • Attention to detail.
