About the job
We are looking for an experienced, well-connected and enthusiastic Senior Funding & Development Manager, to work with the Director General on setting up and implementing a funding and development strategy for EUFIC. The position entails the coordination of fundraising activities with a variety of actors (e.g. national and international foundations and funding bodies, philanthropic organisations, corporations).
Tasks include:
- Mapping funding opportunities and developing a portfolio of prospective funders and donors in EUFIC areas of work (e.g. core grants, cash contributions, philanthropic projects, corporates);
- Creating a funding and development strategy for EUFIC;
- Implementing the funding and development strategy, monitoring progress and adjusting - focussing on practices that increase the mid- and long-term financial sustainability of EUFIC;
- Securing commitments of donation or membership from individuals, foundations or corporate donors;
- Maintaining relationship with donors;
- Providing guidance to the EUFIC team in drafting fundraising applications and training the team to ensure timely reporting on how the raised funds are being used;
- Supervising a CRM program to facilitate the fundraising process;
- Reporting to the DG and EUFIC Exec team.
About you
- You are enthusiastic and passionate about the non-profit world and committed to EUFIC’s mission and values (scientific integrity, collaboration, openness and quality);
- You have 5 years of experience in fundraising and/or business development in the field of food and health, in an international environment;
- You have excellent communication and relationship building skills, a good understanding of the food and health sector, as well as political sensitivity;
- You have a demonstrable ability to secure funding opportunities; a portfolio of contacts is an asset;
- You are proactive, able to work independently to deadlines and ensure optimal internal communication;
- You have an ability to think strategically and critically assess new opportunities;
- You have experience with CRM programs to facilitate the fundraising process;
- You are able to travel occasionally and work with flexibility;
- You are fluent in English, with strong written and oral communication skills; additional languages are an asset.
