NIRAS Brussels is one of the 10 NIC Offices in Europe, with a key strategic role in fulfilling NIRAS strategy for profitable growth with the European Commission.

The Business Development Manager will support the Country Director in achieving the overall goals of the NIRAS International Consulting office in Brussels and work closely with other NIRAS offices, especially the European Head Offices supporting the development of the NIRAS EU pipeline and tendering. As the Business Development Manager you will have extensive experience from all aspects of tendering for EU funded technical assistance contracts for the implementation of EU external action. He/she has the highest ethical standards and fluency in English and French.

Job description:

Business Development and growth delivered from the Brussels Office:

• Support the Country Director to build further and maintain NIRAS relations and brand with EU institutions responsible for external action, relevant partners and consultants;
• Support the CD in the implementation of the NIRAS Belgium Strategy and Business Plan;
• Together with the Country Director and other NIRAS offices, develop further the NIRAS EU pipeline and project portfolio;
• Lead or participate in all stages of EC tender preparation;
• Maintain and contribute to EU client specific knowledge regarding winning and implementing EU financed projects.

Qualifications and competencies:

• Significant experience from business development for development consulting, with an excellent record of success especially in the EU market;
• Extensive international development sector knowledge and experience, including relevant networks within the sector;
• A strong commercial understanding and business acumen regarding the market, competition and practices in development consulting, especially in the EU market;
• Ability to take initiative and thrive in an environment not driven by hierarchy;
• Ability to work and navigate across the global NIC matrix organisation and thus able to facilitate dialogue and build effective and efficient work processes across offices, sectors and regions;
• Fluency in English and French.
