The Global Membership and Services department of the International Chamber of Commerce is currently recruiting a Head of Chamber Relations reporting to the Director of the Global Membership and Services department.

The role of the Head of Chamber Relations involves being a point of reference for the chambers of commerce related matters – being aware of everything related to the chamber community, keeping a good relationship with them, and ensuring their general satisfaction with our different activities and services. It also requires the monitoring of all WCF’s activities and ensuring a constant link with the ICC campaigns.

Main responsibilities

  • Manage the development and implementation of ICC activities, partnerships and services involving the Chamber community and their members, including thematic initiatives and digital platforms;
  • Lead the strategic development and advancement of the World Chambers Congress and build on the Congress brand and track record to identify innovations and derivative products/services;
  • Provide support to Global Membership & Services Director for the implementation of initiatives led by the World Chambers Federation’s Chairmanship, Executive Committee and General Council;
  • Supervise the work of the ICC Secretariat to support the ICC International Certificates of Origin Council.

Autonomy and level of responsibility

High level of autonomy during project implementation: solutions and suggestions often established by individual and confirmed with the Director as required. Independent decision making ability is required and necessary during Congress.

Work relations

  • Liaison and coordination with all ICC departments is required;
  • ICC and WCF governing bodies;
  • Chambers of Commerce worldwide;
  • Transnational Chambers;
  • Other institutions/organisations/service providers;
  • Individuals from diverse organisations worldwide.

Education and experience

  • Undergraduate degree in marketing or business would be an advantage with graduate degree preferred;
  • 5-10 years of experience in international organizations or chamber of commerce;
  • Project management experience within a membership or sales based organization;
  • Demonstrated skills in international event & meetings management;
  • Skills and confidence in liaising and negotiating with a range of stakeholders – individuals and organizations – via meetings, participation in working parties, facilitating meetings and focus groups;
  • Perfect command of English as it is the working language;
  • Proficiency in French and any other languages are an advantage;
  • Self-motivated individual with a proven ability to work on their own initiative;
  • Must be results-oriented;
  • Good interpersonal skills, with a diplomatic approach;
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and to communicate effectively in the working environment;
  • Strong organisational skills;
  • Proven management skills;
  • Very strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
  • Web research skills and experience and familiarity with a range of computer software programs and applications.

Terms and conditions

This position is a 6 to 12 months CDD (replacement for a maternity leave).
