AEIDL is seeking a reliable and well-motivated Business Developer to work in close collaboration with and under the supervision of the Head of Business Development Unit to help it grow and strengthen its activities. This is a full-time job.

AEIDL’s thematic expertise ranges from environment and sustainable territorial development; employment, migration and citizenship, to enterprise and integration, social policy, social innovation and public service modernisation.

The Association offers a range of professional services, including information management, web and digital communication; events, capacity building, and network animation; publications, social media and video services, as well as technical assistance, evaluation and consultancy services for a broad range of European contracts.

The Business Development Unit:

The Business Development Unit is composed of 3 team members (two projects executives and a team leader) and is supported by an extensive pool of content experts.

You will be part of the team of skilled, motivated and dynamic experts who will also provide you with the required assistance to perform your tasks. You will be based in Brussels, and will not be expected to travel, with occasional exceptions.

Role and responsibilities:

The Business developer will work closely with the Head of Business Development and the team members to provide support to the development of AEIDL’s activities. Key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • identify calls for tenders and proposals including through studying specific EC DG’s work programmes to identify potential opportunities;
  • prepare background notes on possible tenders and proposals;
  • identify potential partners and relevant experts;
  • maintain all contacts up-to-date;
  • prepare administrative parts of the bids and proposals;
  • draft part of the content of tender/proposal, define AEIDL’s tasks, activities and results, and that of partners;
  • assist with developing the related budget;
  • prepare and give presentations;
  • have contact with clients;
  • contribute to the general business development plan and participate in its implementation;
  • work closely with the knowledge management team in ensuring the knowledge hub is kept up to date with information on submitted proposals;
  • work closely with project managers for the identification of business opportunities, and defining and coordinating their input;
  • maintain and update the log of submitted tenders/proposals and follow up award process.

Qualifications and experience:

  • 3-5 years of work experience in business development with EU service and framework contracts;
  • 3-5 years of work experience in business development with EU and funded programmes;
  • You have excellent command of English;
  • You have strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills;
  • You are disciplined, pragmatic and efficient while also being able to suggest ideas and innovative solutions;
  • You are a fast thinker with an entrepreneurial attitude and the ability to understand the needs and constraints of the business;
  • You are a flexible team player. Other EU languages are a plus.
