Position Overview and Responsibilities

Our Technology practice works with both tech and other sector clients in a variety of policy fields related to the Digital Single Market, notably data, privacy, IPR, e-commerce, geo-blocking, cyber security and consumer affairs. We advise clients on the implications of legislative and political developments for their organisations, and develop advocacy and reputation management strategies that help them enhance their positioning. As part of a wider team we collaborate with colleagues across the office on their specific sector areas of expertise including health, financial services, environment and energy policy, and we work with colleagues in other FleishmanHillard offices across our EMEA and Global network.

The Position

We are looking for a Public Affairs Junior Consultant with some knowledge in the Technology sector, to join this established practice. The Consultant will assist in the implementation of public affairs programmes for market-leading global accounts. Based on his/her daily monitoring of relevant information sources and reporting on key developments, he/she will assist with preparing draft reports, presentations and issue analysis relevant to our clients. He/she will further be expected to proactively build networks around a number of dossiers with key relevant stakeholders from the EU institutions and private sector organisations.

Experience Required

  • We are considering candidates with relevant previous work experience or internship
  • Good understanding of EU policymaking and key current geo-political challenges
  • Some evidence of activities showing a passion about technology and a keen interest on the impact of digital policy
  • Previous experience acquired through working in the EU institutions, in a consultancy firm or in-house in a tech organisation is a plus

Skills & Competencies Required

  • Basic understanding of tech markets and of policy issues most impacting that sector, especially platforms and data privacy
  • Excellent oral and written communication in English is a must; fluency in one or more other languages is a plus
