Internship position
Founded in 1995, the International Biocontrol Manufacturers Association (IBMA) is an international non-profit trade association, based in Brussels since 2013. With over 200 members globally, we represent the manufacturers of biocontrol solutions, established alternatives to pesticides to control pests and diseases. A large percentage of IBMA members are small and medium Enterprises (SMEs). Our members’ solutions provide farmers with products that control pests and diseases sustainably.
As IBMA intern, you will work on diverse topics with each of the IBMA teams, including technical, membership, advocacy and communications. The position will report to the membership and events manager.
Key responsibilities
Membership Engagement
• Support with onboarding new members and manage membership applications and enquiries;
• Maintain and update the member database and mailing lists;
• Assist with the launch and implementation of the new membership engagement platform (Tixxt)
Advocacy
• Support the Senior Advocacy and Outreach Manager in the implementation of advocacy and public affairs activities.
Communication
• Develop and distribute targeted content for members and stakeholders, including updates from and to Professional Groups, National Associations, and newsletters;
• Produce content for the website, newsletters, presentations, and campaigns that reflect IBMA’s mission and priorities
Technical
• Gather, monitor, and select relevant information on regulatory and technical matters, including regulatory proposals, guidance documents, webinars, and training opportunities provided by authorities and industry stakeholders.
• Draft and coordinate communications on the membership engagement platform by sourcing, uploading and organizing relevant documents, resources, and reference materials.
Requirements
• Degree in political science, communications, event management or a related field;
• Up to three years’ experience in communications or membership activities;
• Strong written content and creation skills;
• Proficiency in design tools (Adobe Suite, Canva) and PowerPoint;
• Experience with content management systems (e.g. WordPress), email marketing platforms (e.g. Mailerlite) and webinar platforms (Zoom, Teams)
• Excellent written and verbal English; additional languages are a plus;
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask;
• Service-oriented mindset
We offer
A 6 month internship under Belgian professional immersion contract (CIP), including lunch vouchers, public transport subscription, and possibility to teleworking (2 days per week).
