The Opportunity

As the Global Youth Campaigns Officer, you will meaningfully and strategically engage young influencers in the governance, ongoing co-creation and delivery of the global Girls Get Equal campaign. This will involve coordinating the Global Young Influencers Group of approximately 25 multilingual young activists who are involved in the campaign, acting as their key safeguarding focal point.

In this role you will lead specific youth influencing initiatives and projects and provide technical guidance on youth engagement across the campaign’s knowledge products, strategies and activities. You will ensure all work is in line with Plan’s International’s programme and influencing work to support girls, boys and youth as active drivers of change.

About You

We are looking to recruit a proactive and organised individual who has experience in supporting and/or undertaking youth campaigning, advocacy and activism, and who also has relevant experience in human rights, international development, community development, child and youth participation, gender, social sciences or a related field. With experience of project management and implementation, whilst also having an understanding of the child protection risks and protocols required for effective child and youth participation.

To be successful in this role you will need to have strong relationship building and stakeholder engagement skills. As well as demonstrated commitment and passion for meaningful and inclusive youth participation. Strong written and oral communication skills in English is essential, whilst knowledge in French and/or Spanish is desirable.

Location: Flexible location, in most locations where Plan International has a legal entity and you have the pre-existing right to live and work. Please note that the successful candidate will be employed on local/national terms and conditions.

Salary: We will be happy to disclose the salary and applicable benefits to applicants as part of this process, however, please kindly note that this will vary according to the location of the appointed candidate and therefore, it is not possible to include full details here. If you currently live in the UK, the expected salary is circa £35,000 per annum
