The Youth Forum works to empower young people to participate actively in society. In the current uncertain political and social context that affects young people, they are powerful catalysts for positive change.

The position

We are looking for a Digital Engagement Manager to join the External Affairs department. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Communications and External Affairs Director to support the work of the communications team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news);
  • Work with other departments to prioritize content and build detailed schedules for content delivery;
  • Manage and maintain the social media content calendar;
  • Design and implement creative and engaging social media strategy to align with organisational goals and objectives;
  • Set specific monthly, quarterly digital engagement goals and report on ROI;
  • Monitor, track, analyse and report on performance on social media platforms using tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook insights;
  • Communicate with followers, responding to queries in a timely manner and monitoring reviews;
  • Oversee design of social media accounts (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures, events);
  • Coordinate with both in-house Digital Designer and external service providers to ensure social media accounts match branding objectives;
  • Understand the Youth Forum's target audiences and know how to adapt language, tone and content to communicate effectively with each audience;
  • Develop and implement campaigns to grow the Forum’s online audiences and increase engagement, reach across all channels;
  • Work with the Communications and External Affairs director to produce and maintain tools and documentation, including agreement and budget templates, guidelines, workflows, and reports;
  • Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences;
  • Suggest and implement features to increase brand awareness (e.g. contests, promotions).

PROFILE OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in coordinating content creation and content management;
  • Demonstrable experience of managing organisational/corporate social media channels and activities, with understanding of editorial and technical considerations;
  • Degree in communications, public relations, journalism (preferable);
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English, with experience in writing and editing copy for social media;
  • Excellent communication, time management, diplomacy, problem-solving and organizational awareness skills;
  • Very good knowledge of Slack and project management tools as Monday.com;
  • Positive attitude and flexibility to work in a multicultural international environment;
  • A self-starter with attention to detail, analytical and multitasking skills;
  • A team player with ability to make decisions quickly;
  • Experience working in complex environments; preferably at the EU level and knowledge of EU institutions an asset;
  • Google Analytics certifications an asset.

TERMS OF THE CONTRACT

We offer a contract with the following conditions: 2 years fix-term contract with the possibility for it to become a permanent contract upon good performance.

A gross monthly salary of 3,200 EUR. Working from home allowance and flexible remote work policy. A relocation package, hospitalisation insurance, extra legal holidays and other benefits are available. Travel expenses within the Brussels region are covered by the European Youth Forum.

Candidates to this position should be willing to travel and work flexible hours including if required occasional weekends. This position being based in Brussels, candidates should be willing to relocate or live in the surrounding area.
