COMMUNICATION AND EVENTS MANAGER POSITION

In this role as Communication and Events Manager for the European Social Enterprise Network, you will provide communication leadership and guidance for projects aimed at advancing social enterprise on a global level.

We are an impact network of diverse organisations and changemakers that surface opportunities and remove barriers for social enterprise and social innovation. Our network consists of members that are national networks, social funds, research centres and incubators. Frontrunners that help social entrepreneurs with capacity building, networking, research and developing their business. Since 2007, we have managed 25 projects to a value of over 15 million EUR, and worked with 50 partners from most European countries, the Middle East and Russia. Our projects and campaigns include BuySocial, the European Social Innovation Competition, Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs, EU3Digital, PeerEx, MedUp! and actions within the strategic partnership with the European Commission called EaSI. Our events create a platform for international impact-driven organizations to present themselves, connect to investors, public officials and exchange experiences to scale together.
Job Description
In this role, you will partner with the CEO and team to develop a robust communications strategy which will help bolster the Network’s brand and image through consistent messaging and innovative communication methodologies. The Communication and Events Manager will also oversee and provide creative input regarding EN’s marketing and promotional materials including website content, publications, newsletters, press releases, social media, external communications and EN’s branding. In this position you will work to engage with our members, organize high-level events with global leaders, and collaborate with colleagues at leading impact organizations, the European Commission, the World Economic Forum Covid Response Alliance for Social Entrepreneurs, ImpactCity and the UN Taskforce for Social and Solidarity Economy. This position will report to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
· Strengthen and promote EN’s brand and disseminate communications content to key audiences and stakeholders. Formulate and execute communication strategies with the intent of building the Network’s reputation as a key player in the Social Enterprise and Social Innovation Ecosystem.
· Organize and plan online, hybrid and in-person events which will encourage and bring together European/ global participation and increase EN’s visibility.
· Deliver communications and messages through different communication channels and modalities such as but not limited to the Network’s website, social media, knowledge centre, newsletters, press releases, publications, online events, video etc.
· Develop and implement marketing and communications campaigns and strategies that will help further organizational activities and monitor success.
· Oversee all corporate social media content, strategy and communications and monitor success.
· Oversee the creation of communications materials to ensure that they are consistent with the Network’s communication strategy, including white papers, website copy, brochures, graphic design visuals and more.
· Represent the organization at events.
· Engage and involve EN (prospect) members throughout Europe and beyond.
· Lead and manage EN media and multiplier partners in order to create visibility for our activities and projects.
· Other assigned duties and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
· At least 5 years experience and/ or a strong track record in a strategic communication role.
· Demonstrated success with branding campaigns and (online/ hybrid) event management.
· Proven success designing and executing communications strategies and campaigns.
· Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to meet deadlines. Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment, be a self-starter and take initiative. Enjoys working in a team.
· Great multitasker and able to simultaneously manage multiple projects with different deadlines.
· Proficiency in English. Proficiency in French and other EU languages will be considered an asset.
· Superior written and verbal communications skills. Extensive experience writing and editing.
· Experience with social media, websites, creating audio and visual content and other digital tools.
· Excellent knowledge and command of marketing and communication tools e.g. website management (Wordpress), mailing systems, Adobe Indesign/ Photoshop/ Canva.
· Familiarity or experience working with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce) is a plus.
· Bachelors or Master degree in a relevant subject. Masters preferred.

Remuneration will be between 35.000 – 38.000 EUR full-time equivalent per annum depending on experience. EN offers 30 days annual leave, regular home-working, provides hardware (MacbookPro and iPhone), and a pension scheme. The employer is open to discussing 0.8 full-time role (32 hours). Initial 6 months contract.
