IEEP is looking for an intern to assist the External Representation team in supporting other teams on external outreach of the organisation and with administrative tasks.

This is a 3-month, unpaid internship intended for current students or recent graduates. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, the internship will be conducted remotely. A small stipend will be provided to help cover lunch expenses.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The website and social media intern will be primarily responsible for:

  • Engaging with researchers to help develop accurate, relevant, and timely short-form content for social media and other online channels;
  • Helping plan social media campaigns to reach a wider audience, increase brand awareness and improve engagement;
  • Providing support to the executive assistant, governance and membership office in administrative tasks for the external representation of the organisations as well as the management of the membership network;
  • Conducting background research for blogs, briefings, PowerPoint presentations, newsletter, articles, concept notes and high-level meetings;
  • Planning administrative organisation and assistance to Operations team;
  • Assist in the organisation of IEEP events and in the preparation of the Think2030 platform events.

QUALIFICATIONS

The position is open to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent graduates, with requisite skills:

  • Have a demonstrated interest in the environment, climate and EU policy;
  • Hold a good first degree in a relevant subject;
  • Have an understanding of EU institutions;
  • Have demonstrated good communication skills, in particular, excellent written and spoken English and the ability to present information in a clear, precise and accessible style in this language;
  • Show initiative and be flexible with regard to the tasks they are asked to complete;
  • Be capable of working independently in a fast-paced small office environment;
  • Have good organisational and time management skills;
  • Be reliable and capable of paying close attention to detail;
  • Have good computer skills (particularly in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and social media).

Highly welcome, but not required:

  • Graphic design skills, including familiarity with Photoshop and Canva;
  • Familiarity with environmental and sustainability topics, including European environmental policies and EU legislation processes.
