Job description:

Support the policy and advocacy team by:

  • Monitoring EU policies related to lifelong learning, including attending European Parliament Committee meetings, and civil society organisations meetings;
  • Drafting internal newsletter for members;
  • Supporting LLLP working groups by facilitating the logistics and taking minutes;
  • Supporting drafting of policy papers.

Support the communications team by:

  • Drafting external communications, including newsletters, social media posts and website articles;
  • Monitoring social media, news and developments on lifelong learning, identifying opportunities of dissemination of key LLLP outputs;
  • Supporting the organisation of key events such as national training, the LLLWeek etc.

Other tasks may include attending relevant events and reporting back, supporting other colleagues as needs arise, for instance in projects.

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • A degree or relevant experience in: education and training, European studies, political sciences, international relations, languages, journalism, communication, development studies or other related fields;
  • An excellent command of the English language (spoken and written); Additional knowledge of one or more European languages will be considered an asset;
  • Excellent writing and copy editing skills;
  • Ability to translate complex political issues into appropriate messages with accessible language.

Highly valued:

  • Knowledge of the European institutions and other target audiences related to education;
  • Interest in lifelong learning and education policies;
  • Experience with civil society, membership-based organisations and general non-profit sector (volunteering included);
  • Knowledge of digital tools: Mailchimp, CMS, Adobe and designing skills;
  • Social media savvy.

  • Strong organisational skills and flexibility;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills within a multinational context;
  • Being action-oriented, self-motivated, responsible and willing to take initiative;
  • Having an eye for detail and knowing to keep to deadlines (even under pressure);
  • Creative and strategic thinking.
