Organisation: SGI Europe (formerly CEEP) represents at EU-level enterprises and organisations from across Europe, both public and private, at national, regional and local level, which are public employers or providers of services of general interest. SGI EUROPE is one of the three General Cross Industry Social Partners recognised by the EU Commission, i.e. it represents public services employers in the European Social Dialogue www.SGIeurope.eu.
Area: We are currently looking for a Policy Officer – Services of General Interest, Internal Market and Competition
Type of contract: full time, unlimited
Experience: at least two years
Main tasks
To follow the developments of EU internal market and related policies
- Identifying, following and monitoring issues relevant for SGI EUROPE in the field of Services of General Interest, Internal Market and Competition;
- Drafting discussion papers and briefing notes, support in drafting SGI EUROPE opinions, press releases, articles (etc) related to the above-mentioned policy fields; • Drafting speeches of SGI EUROPE President and SGI EUROPE General Secretary related to the above-mentioned policy fields;
- Representing SGI EUROPE in internal and external meetings (with the EU institutions and with lobby organisations) where the agreed SGI EUROPE positions in the respective policy field need to be presented;
- Coordinating the work of the respective SGI EUROPE Boards and Task Forces and organizing the respective meeting;
- Coordinating the operation of SGI EUROPE ad hoc working groups on Digital policies and Industrial strategy;
- Coordinating the lobbying for the establishment of an EP Interest on Services of General Interest;
- Giving relevant input to SGI EUROPE work within the Fit4Future Platform
Qualifications and skills
- University degree in a relevant field, possibly with European specialisation;
- English C2 level, additional languages, French and/or German in particular, can be an asset
