The New Zealand Mission to the European Union wishes to recruit a Policy Adviser, on permanent contract starting as soon as possible. We are looking for someone who has:
In this busy position, you will be responsible for conducting research and analysis and preparing policy reporting on areas of key strategic interest to the Mission. You will also support the Mission’s engagement with officials, stakeholders, local contacts and the business sector, including through meetings, events, public diplomacy and digital diplomacy.
The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders will be key to your success.
Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Other languages (particularly French or Dutch) would be an advantage.
Applicants must have the right to reside and work in Belgium. The successful applicant will be employed under local terms and conditions.
The Mission will not be responsible for any costs incurred associated with relocation, accommodation, work permits and visa costs, nor the return of the officer and/or family to their country of origin at the end of the contract.
New Zealand citizenship is not essential, but an ability to obtain and maintain an appropriate New Zealand Government security clearance is required.
