The position

The European Youth Forum is looking for a Digital Designer to join the Communications & Events Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design assets and creative solutions for a variety of uses (websites, email and newsletter templates, social media graphics, brand campaigns); ensure they meet brand guidelines and organizational objectives;
  • Conceptualize design/artwork for print and digital designs and improve existing designs;
  • Create digital images, GIFs, and textual animations;
  • Edit and produce videos and animations;
  • Produce layouts and designs for publications, reports, and print collateral;
  • Prepare briefs and concept notes for projects/campaigns and present design ideas to relevant stakeholders;
  • Perform media edits based on feedback;
  • Record, edit, and encode audio files;
  • Assist team with trend and market research;
  • Ensure consistency in designs across all organization's platforms.

PROFILE OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • At least two years' proven experience in a similar role;
  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Fine Arts is preferred;
  • Design experience with digital, print and motion design applications;
  • Requires in-depth experience using a variety of design tools:
    • Adobe InDesign;
    • Adobe Photoshop;
    • Adobe Illustrator;
    • Adobe Premiere/Final Cut Pro;
    • Adobe After Effects and other media editing software is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of HTML & CSS;
  • Artistic with a keen eye for aesthetics and visually appealing content;
  • Ability to clearly present design ideas and concepts for campaigns and projects;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Solid organizational and time management skills; ability to juggle priorities;
  • Ability to work in a fast paced multicultural environment and meet tight deadlines;
  • The drive to excel and succeed; self-motivated;
  • Experience working with WordPress and Drupal is a plus.

TERMS OF THE CONTRACT

This is a permanent and full time (35 hours per week) position. The gross monthly salary according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement currently applied at the European Youth Forum) is between 2,754 and 2,922 EUR.

A relocation package, hospitalisation insurance and other benefits are available.

Travel expenses within the Brussels region are covered by the European Youth Forum.

Candidates to this position should be willing to travel and work flexible hours including if required occasional weekends. This position being based in Brussels candidates should be willing to relocate or live in the surrounding area.
