We are looking for a Communications and Media Officer to join our international team based in Brussels. The position is initially for a maternity leave replacement, but there is scope for the contract to be extended as EUROCHAMBRES looks to increase its press and communications capacity.

You will be responsible for EUROCHAMBRES’ corporate and project-related communications. We require someone who can generate high-quality coverage for campaigns across a wide range of outlets, including social, printed/online and broadcast media. Experience of working on international campaigns and coordinating press and communications activities with organisations based in multiple countries will also be a bonus.

Education:

  • Academic background in journalism, communications, marketing or similar.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of postgraduate experience as a communications, public relations or marketing specialist;
  • Proven experience in developing communication strategies and advocacy campaigns;
  • Experience of translating in effective and clear messages the outcomes and products delivered by experts on a range of policy areas and activities;
  • Capacity to plan, produce and promote tailored multimedia content;
  • Experience in social media and web content management;
  • Practical and direct knowledge of communications dynamics and needs in an international association or organisation desirable;
  • Strong grasp of European media and international media covering EU issues;
  • Previous involvement in EU funded projects would also be beneficial.

Skills:

  • Ability to coordinate high volumes of work from various sources, to prioritize and meet deadlines;
  • In-depth understanding of communications channels and means;
  • Strong writing and editing skills;
  • Well-developed time management skills and attention to detail;
  • Digitally savvy;
  • Basic graphic design knowledge and skills;
  • Fluency in English. Knowledge of other European languages an asset.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement EUROCHAMBRES strategic communication plan;
  • Ensure the delivery of communications requirements in the framework of various EU funded and other ad hoc projects;
  • Edit articles, communications materials and any other texts or document needed and pertaining the function;
  • Produce, develop and disseminate a range of communications and visibility materials;
  • Promote EUROCHAMBRES online or physical events;
  • Identify relevant EU-level visibility and media opportunities;
  • Edit corporate and EU funded project leaflets, brochures, books, e-books, guides etc.;
  • Develop, manage and update engaging content for website and social media;
  • Maintain and monitor social media accounts;
  • Plan, manage and deploy e-mail marketing to produce newsletters and Info Flashes;
  • Produce annual report of activities;
  • Supervise and coordinate the production of corporate and EU project related audio-visual material;
  • Manage and update EUROCHAMBRES media database and monitor media coverage.

WHAT WE OFFER

Contract: Belgian contract (maternity replacement).
