Things I liked most:

Working closely with senior managers and project officers and immersing myself in current labour/technical issues in the transport sector; delivering on EU project KPIs and establishing contacts with project professionals throughout Europe.

Things could have been better:

No formal feedback from my supervisor about my work. Terminated without notice without input from other colleagues. Throughout my final week, the supervisor humiliated me in front of fellow colleagues, screaming how "very disappointed" they were in me, only to discover for shortly thereafter in her own notes that we had agreed upon an entirely different deadline and set of expectations. The supervisor acknowledged her mistake without apology during this meeting, but cited it as a reason for termination three days later. Rather than meet for our first scheduled evaluation, the supervisor decided to terminate my one-year contract, giving the same reasoning as a reason for sudden termination three days later. Coerced into signing a waiver of my rights upon termination by Geneva HR without recourse to contest the rationale provided by my Brussels supervisor. My contract provided for a 2-week probationary period, but this was not provided. The lack of feedback and sudden dismissal without recourse "after a proof period" was utterly confusing, personally humiliating, illegal under Belgian law, and in contradiction to the expectations established with my supervisor previously.
