Things I liked most:

The colleagues. We're ~30 staff members, mostly between the ages of 20 and 30. The events are also some of the best in town.

Things could have been better:

Management disregards procedures, tending to improvise and give tasks last minute. This, combined with micromanagement, creates a needlessly high-stress environment.

Things I liked most:

It is a steep learning curve, and you are responsible for big, interesting projects (at least at the beginning). You get a lot of responsibility. it is a young crowd of people working there.

Things could have been better:

While the staff got along well, there was a real disconnect between the staff and the Directors/management level. They were incredibly disorganised, and kept changing the rules and procedures abruptly. There was no trust between them and the staff, leading to constant micromanagement, but at the same time delays in responses meaning the staff couldn't get on with meeting deadlines. Therefore things ended up being done last minute and under extreme stress. Staff were not very well treated, with some Directors being incredibly rude, with constant conflict. The work quickly becomes very repetitive as the majority is events based, and not policy oriented as they make it out to look like. While you learn a lot, in the end it is not so interesting. Moreover, the pay was bad and there was no career progression. I would not recommend this organisation to future job seekers considering joining the organisation.
