Applica was set up in 1992 to carry out research on economic and social issues.

Since then, it has undertaken a great many studies on these issues and on related policies for tackling them. The reputation it has gained for careful and perceptive analysis combined with the technical and organisational ability to manage the preparation of publications has led the European Commission and associated institutions to entrust Applica to produce some of its most prestigious reports.

Applica is a multicultural company. The working languages are English and French but staff between them are fluent in 7 other languages.
