Do you want to be part of making sure people and the environment are protected from harmful chemicals? We are hiring a lawyer to be part of the Chemicals Project team. The role will involve analysing complex legal questions and policy scenarios and producing high-quality outputs, including public facing briefings. In particular, the Lawyer will be involved in matters relating to the implementation, enforcement and protection of the EU’s REACH Regulation, the Classification, Labelling and Packaging Regulation and other laws relevant to chemicals pollution. There will be a strong focus both on carrying out advocacy with decision-makers to secure adoption of ClientEarth’s recommendations, and on providing legal support to other NGOs.
The position will be line-managed by the Chemicals Project Lead lawyer based part time in Brussels and London. The Lawyer will have key relationships with members of the other teams. She/he will work with the Environmental Democracy team working on transparency and access to justice, the Plastics team focusing on plastic pollution, and ClientEarth staff more generally including the communication team and fund raising team.
