Transparency International EU (TI-EU) is an international non-profit organisation under Belgian law (AISBL) based in Brussels (Belgium). We work closely with Transparency International national chapters in over 100 countries worldwide and the International Secretariat (TI-S) based in Berlin.

As part of the global Transparency International movement, TI-EU coordinates Transparency International’s advocacy toward the EU institutions. The mission of TI-EU is to prevent corruption and promote integrity, transparency and accountability in EU institutions, policies and legislation. This will in turn enhance efforts at the national level to fight corruption and promote equality and access to justice for citizens.

We are looking for a motivated individual with a background in accounting and taxation issues/data analysis to support the office’s work on corporate accountability as an intern. The successful candidate will provide support to the Senior Policy Officer on Corporate Transparency, in particular with regard to TI EU’s project on its Corporate Tax Tracker.

In October 2018, TI EU launched its interactive online platform, the Corporate Tax Tracker, which visualises country-by-country financial data published by EU banks. The platform provides the public with an easily understandable way of diving into the financial data of EU banks. The Tax Tracker gives an essential understanding on which countries the banks operate in, where they have most activities, where the profits are declared, and how much taxes are paid. In 2019 and 2020, TI EU has been working on an update of the Corporate Tax Tracker, which will be launched in the Fall of 2020. In addition to its Corporate Tax Tracker, TI EU will develop a brief report, which will highlight selected case studies, provide an overview on the financial trends and promote the findings of the Tax Tracker. It is our aim to ensure that the valuable information and findings included in the platform stand out even more prominently in order to be used as effective advocacy material for our dealings with decision-makers in EU institutions and Member States.
