About the role

The Programme Officer will be an integral member of the Energy Programme, which includes the Energy Market Initiative and the Coal Initiative. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our cutting-edge legal work to accelerate the decarbonisation of the energy sector, and the creation of clean, efficient, competitive and consumer friendly energy markets.

You will be a member of ClientEarth's Energy Programme, which includes initiatives focusing on both (1) EU and national energy markets issues and (2) the eradication of coal combustion as a source of power in Europe. You will be part of a vibrant and expanding team pursing the development and implementation of effective and enforceable laws, as well as litigation to achieve our goals.

Role requirements

Essential:

• Experience of responding to competing deadlines and managing multiple tasks and priorities within a working environment;
• Good knowledge of administrative and financial processes and procedures.

Desirable:

• Experience of working in a not-for-profit organisation and/or legal environment;
• Understanding or knowledge of national, EU and/or international law, litigation, courts, and/or environmental justice;
• Knowledge of environmental regulation, energy laws and policies, and recent policy and legal developments;
• Fluency in English (essential) and another language (desirable).
