MGR Human Resources Ltd, member of MAP S.Platis Group of Companies, is a leading, broad HR Consulting, Training, Recruitment and Temporary Placements Agency. We are looking to hire an Information Provision for the European Asylum Support Office to be based in AWAS Centres in Malta.

The position

The successful candidate will work on a secondment basis for the awarded contract for the Provision of Interim Services to the European Asylum Support Office (EASO). EASO is an EU Regulatory Agency headquartered in Malta whose mandate is to strengthen EU Member States’ practical cooperation on asylum, to support Member States whose asylum systems are under particular pressure and to enhance the implementation of the Common European Asylum System.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected, amongst other, to perform some or all of the following tasks:

  • Interact daily with international protection applicants to support the info provision on the asylum procedures, via interpreters, about their rights and obligations, facilitate the replies to their questions; Answer individual queries on the status of asylum application cases, according to the instructions and procedures of the Authority;
  • Ensure adequate follow-up & monitoring of complex individual queries;
  • Consult regularly all relevant colleagues to ensure accuracy of the information provided;
  • Manage groups of applicants in the operating location of the Authorities, ensuring a daily smooth functioning with an efficient entry/exit system;
  • Collect, process and archive documents submitted by the applicants;
  • Manage documents/Scan/Archive;
  • Draft documents, templates, statistics, minutes and reports;
  • Support the development of guidelines, standard operating procedures, information packages, templates and tools.
  • Provide regular analytical and statistical reports of provided services and challenges;
  • Perform any other tasks in the interest of the service, relevant to the specific profile.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in law or degree in International Relations, International Law, Political or Social is advantageous
  • Excellent understanding of the migration and asylum context;
  • Knowledge of the Common European Asylum System;
  • Proven experience in conducting research, including desk-based research, related to topics in the field of international protection for various projects, drafting reports, collection of background material;
  • Proficient use of English;
  • Computer literate, including MS Office applications (Word, Excel), excellent use of internet and particularly web-based applications and search engines.
  • Demonstrated previous legal or research experience in relevant tasks will be an advantage;
  • Very good intercultural/interdisciplinary communication skills

Remuneration

The position falls in hierarchical Category II and the associated salary is €23,786.52 gross annually in twelve monthly installments.
